Natural Alternatives

Despite the benefits of fluoride, it is a known endocrine disruptor, and some studies show it may even be a neurotoxin. Thankfully, there are several alternatives, such as Xylitol and MI Paste as well as:

Neem

Use neem leaf extract at home to help combat plaque that leads to gingivitis & tooth decay. Neem has significantly outperformed at least one common plaque-reducing dental product in a recent study.

Oregano Oil

Research shows it’s beneficial for treating toothaches, abscesses, and mouth sores. Using it as mouthwash after brushing kills bacteria that lead to decay & infection.

Myrrh

Myrrh is a supplement often used to treat periodontal disease and bad-breath because it significantly reduces oral bacteria.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil offers various health benefits due to it’s antibacterial properties. Use it as a toothpaste and mouthwash (oil-pulling or oil-swishing). It can drastically reduce oral plaque keeping your teeth and gums healthy.

What is dental metal?

Dental metal, known as amalgam, has been a standard practice first appearing in western dentistry in 1528. Unfortunately, Amalgam, consisting of a mix of mercury is still in use to this day. We do not consider it a safe or necessary option. Many people are choosing to have metal removed from their mouth and replaced with other materials because of the uncertainty about safety and their desire for a healthy body and natural smile.

What are non-metal dental materials?
Non-metal dental fillings are available in several materials: ceramic, porcelain, and resin composite.
These are each a healthier mix of materials including plastics, ceramics, glass or porcelain. These fillings are similar in tone and texture to natural teeth. White fillings are now the preferred choice for those wanting strength, natural appearance, and good oral and overall health.

A crown restores a damaged or missing tooth to its normal shape, size and function. A crown can protect the tooth or improve the way it looks. Your dentist may recommend a crown to support a tooth that has a large filling, attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth, restore a fractured tooth, or cover a poorly shaped tooth or dental implant.

Dental bridge is exactly that, they bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap ~ these teeth and crowns support a false tooth/teeth in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants. Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, restore a more natural smile, give the ability to properly chew and speak, distribute the pressure evenly for your bite, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting.
